Web poker has become globally celebrated lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is on same level to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet is the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a figure on par with the original bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your ante and set odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
