Novice Strategy for Pai Gow Poker

[ English ]

Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the wild west in a fantastic game for early level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the croupier, not like most other poker games that players bet with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more advanced people winning their cash.

Another Pai Gow edge is the generally slow game play, rookies should be able to take their time and scheme while not having to make hasty decisions.

It’s also much simpler to wager on for a very long time with just a little amount of cash seeing as, to not win, each of your hands needs to be under both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is given 7 cards faces showing and the house is dealt 7 cards face down.

One five card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
