No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he loved playing different card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting really competitive in these card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a little while and headed to New York City to play some big-time chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were tough as he would play many hours and lost most times. He earned some additional money by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he possibly could better his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He made an effort to acquire more sleep and focus more on poker.

The definite advancement in his game began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly play against each other. Howard was able to access several of the best players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would hone his cunning thinking abilities. He used these strategy ideas in the game of No-Limit hold’em.

Howard Lederer also helped his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie Duke was a great student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the best female players the poker world has ever seen. Howard Lederer relocated to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and played money games for the next decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to play more tournaments.
